Our guest is Mariano de Socarraz, president of CorePlus Servicos Clinicos y Patologicos. With over 25 years experience in anatomic pathology, CorePlus is an international specialty laboratory serving clients throughout the US and the Caribbean.

This episode, we are talking about the digital journey that CorePlus underwent. We will discover what were the steps involved, once the decision was made to go digital, what lessons were learned and of course, what is the business case for going digital. The big news of course, is CorePlus made the first installation of an AI system for clinical use in the Americas. Mariano de Socarraz serves as the CEO, CorePlus Servicios Clínicos y Patológicos, L.L.C.

Since founding the company in 1996. CorePlus is a specialized anatomic pathology and clinical laboratory company servicing private physician offices, ambulatory surgical centers (ASC) and other multi-specialty in and outpatient healthcare facilities. Mr. de Socarraz has successfully developed this market in Puerto Rico. In addition, Mr. de Socarraz is President of Syndeo, LLC a healthcare IT company dedicated to developing solutions in the anatomic and clinical laboratory space.

Mr. de Socarraz has over 40 years’ experience in healthcare management, marketing and sales. He has served as Vice-President, General Manger for Sonics International, a wholly owned subsidiary of Diasonics, Inc. from 1980 to 1984. He also served as Director of Business Development/Southeast for Medical Resources from 1985 to 1988, a leading provider of specialty imaging services. From 1988 to 1998, Mr. de Socarraz was the President of Imaging Healthcare, which specialized in the distribution of urological healthcare products and services throughout the Southeastern United States and Latin America.

Mr. de Socarraz holds multiple professional registries in the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) and RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer). Mr. de Socarraz is degreed in Radiologic Technology (AS), International Marketing (BS) and has completed course work toward a Master’s in Health Care Administration (MBA).
